Isabella could never have anticipated what awaited her on Sunday, August 31st. After a brief stay in a local Turlock hotel, she came home to a drastically altered backyard and a wish come true. The six-year-old had been granted her one true wish, a backyard playhouse structure with only one rule that there would be no boys allowed. Her one exception to the rule, “…only one boy can come in-that’s Cameron (Her nine-year-old brother).” But for everyone else Isabella says, “Get off my lawn!”
The wish was made possible by the regional Make-A-Wish chapter, Make-A-wish volunteers, and Home Depot stores. The exterior of the house is yellow with blue trim, includes Dutch doors, screened windows, a front porch and a white picket fence. The inside is pink and includes a loft bed, table and chairs, a rug, a bean bag chair, a tea set, an art easel, white board and book shelves. To sum it all up, the house is a wish come true for this little girl.
“Bella came downstairs and said she needed to check on the house because she thought maybe it was all a dream.” –Les, Isabella’s father
