Shylah's one true wish involving two of her favorite things...travel and princesses
In the summer of 2014 Shylah began to experience challenges breathing. Initially, air quality issues and allergies were considered the likely culprit but in October they learned Shylah had lymphoma.
Shylah’s battle with cancer had begun and she spent the next 25 days on the seventh floor of UC Davis Children’s Hospital undergoing tests, CT scans, operations and chemotherapy to attack the tumor.
Shylah loves princesses so much, that when her parents allow her to dress herself, she usually chooses to wear an Elsa dress that is fit for royalty. To help share Shylah’s journey with friends and family and spread awareness about childhood cancer, her family has started a blog detailing her battle and their road back to health.
Shylah has a big imagination and loves to travel so of course her one true wish had to include two of her favorite things: princesses and road trips. Her wish began with a greeting by Cinderella and Belle as they welcomed her to the princess themed RV that she would use to embark on her journey down the California coast. The RV was decorated with items from Disney’s Frozen and other princess gear along with snacks for the trip. Before leaving, Cinderella and Belle pronounced Shylah an honorary princess. Once Shylah arrived at Disneyland she met the magical snowman from Frozen, Olaf, along with many Princesses. Shylah had so much fun on her princess RV adventure that she never wanted it to end.
