More than 300 volunteers throughout our chapter support our mission work in wish granting, special events, community relations, corporate fund raising, community awareness and other critical areas. Volunteers work in local communities by impacting the lives of individual Northeastern California and Northern Nevada children. Experienced volunteers and professional staff provide training and support for new volunteers.

Wish Granters work in teams of two as a liaison between a wish family and Make-A-Wish. They help determine a child’s wish and play an instrumental role in helping to turn the wish into reality. You must be at least 21 years old, complete Wish Granter training, and be able to make two or more visits to the family during the course of the wish process.
Special Events Volunteer
As a Special Events Volunteer, you will represent Make-A-Wish at fundraising events. Day-of-event activities range from live and silent auction support, raffle sales, photography and registration.
Increase awareness of the local Make-A-Wish impact by joining our Community Ambassadors and representing Make-A-Wish at a variety of outreach venues such as schools, fairs, chamber of commerce events, employer charity fairs and many others. Prior Make-A-Wish volunteer experience required.
Meet and welcome wish families at the airport, assist with baggage and rental car arrangements upon arrival, and make them feel comfortable as they begin their magical wish experience.
Periodically, we need Office Volunteers to assist of staff with administrative projects. Depending on current need, you may volunteer for a few hours one day or work with one specific employee over a period of time.
