We often say our colleagues in our wish department are Wish Fairies but there is another kind of wings within our chapter. Did you know that 75% of our wishes involve air travel? Since becoming a national sponsor in 2012, Southwest Airlines has become very involved in travel to help wish kids and their families reach their destinations. Southwest Employees are well known for welcoming and embracing wish kids during their travels, a true display of their hearts for wish children.. Their employees treat our wish kids to cockpit visits, gate announcements, goody bags and welcome signs. These little details add to their whole wish experience.
Here is a photo of Wish Kid Michel, his brother, and the pilot before they take off to New York. His wish was to go to New York this summer because he wanted to see the Statue of Liberty. It’s right here in this photo … a pilot took a few extra moments for a wish kid. And both of their lives are better for it.
Below is a photo of our wish kid Owen receiving a few of his favorite things from our team at Southwest Airlines. His wish took flight as he was off to meet the Detroit Red Wings Hockey Team. Thank you Southwest for making his wish extra special!
