Make-A-Wish® Northeastern California and Northern Nevada is a charitable nonprofit organization whose purpose is to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Make-A-Wish Northeastern California & Northern Nevada was founded in 1983 and has granted more than 6,000 wishes to children in our community. With the help of generous donors, community supporters, and dedicated volunteers, our chapter is able to grant more than 275 wishes each year. While the organization follows the policies and guidelines of Make-A-Wish® America, it operates as a separate 501(c)(3) organization. All funds raised by our chapter are used to fulfill our mission in the 37 Northeastern California and Northern Nevada counties we serve (see map for details).
In 2009, with the help of the communities it serves, Make-A-Wish® opened The Wishing Place, a child-friendly and inviting place where children with life-threatening medical conditions are encouraged to dream big and wishes come true.
